Jobs, Jobs, Jobs.  It all hinges on our ability as an economy to produce...to be productive.  When tax revenues fall, it is due to fewer workers paying income taxes, and less spending.  When school enrollments decline, it is often due to jobs and industry leaving a community.  Even health and social challenges can be linked to those families struggling.

I also want to state my thanks to our State Senator, Luther Olsen, for his courage and fortitude in standing up for passage of recent legislation.  I believe that efforts to recall our Senator are not appropriate, but I will pledge my assistance and voice to Sen. Olsen in staying in his office!!

• Consider the conclusions of the Wisconsin Jobs Now Task Force.  This was from a consortium of our business leaders, that brought forth common sense messages ignored by the legislature.  Let's take a serious look at these recommendations.
• A review of the Governor's proposed 2011-2013 Budget is still underway.  There are substantive cuts to K-12 Education.  A component of the Budget Repair Bill, and part of the  Budget is to give local governments the ability to control many of the costs, which can offset the reductions in aid, but a complete analysis is needed to see if that's indeed the case. 
• I will be working with our legislators to refine and define priorites for K-12 spending, and perhaps offer ideas on other budgetary items.  Stay tuned for details.
• Repeal the Domestic Partner Registry.  We have a Constitutional amendment stating marriage is between one man and one woman. 
• Work for an equitable solution in a new school funding formula.  As a school board member, and someone with 25 years in the financial industry, I am readily equipped to be a part of a solution.  A complex problem to be sure, but one that needs a common sense solution!
•  Allow concealed carry in Wisconsin.  We are only one of two states not allowing this!

There are other ideas and challenges too numerous to name, but I think we need to take a serious look at how we are funding many entitlement programs, and all areas of State government to insure that waste, fraud, and abuse are eliminated! 

I fundamentally believe in three abiding conservative principles:

• Limited government
• Prosperity
